Kallenia Rivers is a continuation of the work of the late Frank Coonan, who founded Kallenia Australian Stock Horse Stud. Frank was an Honorary life member of the Australian Stock Horse Society and a member since its foundation in 1971. Frank passed away in 2022, but not before choosing a very special bay colt for Amy Curran to continue his lines with. Amy rode for Frank in her younger years, and worked with him closely as officials at the Royal Canberra Show for over a decade.

Kallenia horses are iconic Heritage Australian Stock Horses, Frank had a strong focus on heritage lines, which were truly versatile horses, winning as Royal and National level show mounts, Camp drafters, Show jumpers, and reliable, competitive youth horses.
